Admissions sat down with Jamie to learn a little more about who she is and what she loves about UWF. Hear from her perspective to learn more about UWF.

    About Jamie

I love helping students realize the potential they have here at UWF! I meet so many phenomenal prospective students and there really is no one type of transfer student. They have diverse backgrounds, interests, personalities and goals. Sometimes, it is like being a detective, getting all the information and putting it together for the student, giving them a direction and purpose. Being able to help these students realize the possibilities they have at UWF and guiding them along the way is very exciting and rewarding.

What's the best thing about UWF?

It’s inclusiveness and commitment to giving students the best education, experiences, and opportunities. No matter what, you will find your place at UWF! Not only that, but the campus is beautiful.

Why did you come to UWF?

I chose UWF as a student because it was close to home. I love this area and my family is here. UWF allowed me to stay close to where I love, but still had my independence and my own life. I came back to UWF as an employee because it is a great place to work! I love UWF’s mission and am happy to be a part of making that mission come to life.

What's your favorite spot on campus?

The Connection Deck! I recently worked on a project with colleagues across campus and we revitalized an old space and made it something new, creating the Connection Deck. We created this space to promote student connectedness, providing an enjoyable and non intimidating space. Anyone can stop by to eat lunch outside on the deck, or to just take a break and play one of the many games located at the Connection Deck.

    What makes Pensacola special?

As a Pensacola native, I have had the privilege of watching the City of Pensacola grow and expand into the forward thinking city that it is becoming. It has a small town feel, but has an endless array of big city-like activities and opportunities. Pensacola can be quiet and lively. It can be busy, yet also slow. I am now raising my own family here and I value the opportunities that my daughter will have as she grows up in Pensacola. Sometimes, I have to pinch myself, realizing that I live where other people vacation.
